Do you have a 'very Special Child'?
Then you might be interested in my
TAILS!!

I created TAILS on Suzy's SHIRTS.
It works for us ~ maybe it will work for you, too.

Remember when your kids were babies?
And they all wore ONESIES?
I loved onesies for all 3 of my babies -
the shirts stayed tucked into the pants,
their tummies stayed covered, and warm, and protected,
the onesie kept the shirt from "bunching all up in the back" when the baby was in a stroller or carseat,
there wasnt' a bunch of material gathered around their boobies when they were rolling on the floor,
they just looked neater.

Suzy is pretty much still like a baby - AT AGE 5 - and STiLL NEEDS ONESIES.
So, I created a way to make EVERY SHIRT SHE WEARS A ONESIE by sewing on a TAIL!!

I have done this for 2 years, to every shirt she has, and it's very easy!!!

For every shirt, you need one baby onesie. Cut the bottom 1/3 off the onesie, cut off the sides, and sew it onto the bottom of the shirt.

Good morning -

Today marks two weeks since Suzy moved to the 7th floor rehabilitation unit. While the changes are small, there are indeed changes taking place and the therapists are overall happy with Suzy's progress. She can hold her head up for slightly longer periods of time and she is rolling from her side to her front or back. If something is put in Suzy's hand, she moves her hand to her mouth. She has also made eye contact with Whitney during her bottle feedings, which Whitney is just thrilled about! She is slowly calming down and her sleep cycles are improving. In addition, her muscle tone is better - she is not as stiff which will allow her to eventually have more purposeful movements.

The amount of medicine Suzy is receiving has been slightly reduced and she has completed her steroid treatments. The doctors and therapists have estimated another 3 - 4 weeks of continued therapy in the hospital. The great news is that her doctor has approved a "day pass" for Suzy and she will be going home with her family for 6 hours on Sunday.

Please keep them in your daily thoughts and prayers!

Hello everyone -

Suzy has now been in rehab for one week. I see small changes every time I go to the hospital. She appears less stiff to me, her eyes seem to follow better and she is moving her arms and legs more and more. This week has also had a few minor complications that are all a result of the virus - she has been very irritable and not sleeping well some of the days and nights. The doctors have continued to adjust her medications trying to find the best dosage for each. They are also trying to get her feedings straight and ensure she gets enough fluids each day. The Neurologist stated that the virus is still very active in her body. Therefore it is hard for her to progress and heal therapeutically when she is not rid of the virus yet.

On a different note, a pediatric group of Neurologists from John Hopkins has taken an interest in Suzy's case. They will receive all of her paperwork and have a consultation meeting about Suzy in the next week or so. They may have suggestions for her treatment or they may agree with what is happening right now, but either way Whitney and Chris will have another opinion from one of the best facilities in the nation.

I hope everyone enjoys using this Caring Bridge website. We hope it will be easier for Whitney and Chris to use in the long run and easier for everyone to leave messages for the Booze family.

Take care and please continue to keep Suzy and all of her family in your thoughts and prayers!
